College Road Trip

Students have the opportunity to visit West Liberty University and Bethany College on Wednesday, May 15.  The trip will be during the school day.  Students who would like to attend should see Ms. Bliss for a permission slip.  MFHS appreciates the Community Foundation who is funding the College Road Trip Project again for 2019!

All college-bound 9th-12th graders who have taken the ACT or register to take the ACT are eligible to participate.   For more information, please call the high school at 633-0684.  Don't miss this unique opportunity!

Let's go on a college road trip!  The College Road Trip will visit Kent State University, Youngstown State University, University of Akron, The Ohio State University, and Capital University in three fall trips.  This is an opportunity for students to tour college campuses, speak with admission representatives and current students, see a dorm room, and eat in a college dining hall.  To be eligible, students must be in college prep courses, have taken or sign up to take the ACT, and have a parent attend the informational meeting on October 9 from 6:00-7:00.  All participating students receive an ACT prep book, a t-shirt, a backpack, a folder for organizing college/scholarship information, and lunch.  There is NOT COST to participate.  The first trip will be November 15.  Each trip is limited to 30 students.  The trip is sponsored by The Community Foundation of the Ohio Valley and Martins Ferry City School District.  Questions can be directed to Ms. Bliss via email at stacey.bliss@omeresa.net or by calling the high school (740-633-0684).

Due to interrupted internet service at school, interim reports will be sent home with students on Monday, September 24.

Transportation is available for students in grades 9-12 to attend this Friday night's football game at Nelsonville York. There is a sign-up sheet in the office. The first 54 students to sign up and return a permission slip and a current emergency medical form will be permitted to ride the bus.  The bus will leave the student parking lot at 3:30 on Friday.  Students who are riding the bus must be at the school no later than 3:10.  The bus trip will take approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes each way.  The school will provide pizza and water for the students on the trip.
